Customers Can Send Messages Through OpenTable

OpenTable, the reservation app, has started a direct messaging feature to allow diners and restaurants to directly communicate before making a reservation. Direct messaging allows restaurants to serve better hospitality by preventing cancellations and no-shows.

Diners can send direct messages to restaurants to make requests, ask questions, relay dietary preferences, and modify or cancel their reservation. They can also send a message after their reservation in case of items left behind or if they want to ask for the name of that bottle of wine they loved.  You can read more here

Yelp Adds Tag For Restaurants To Say “Vaccine Proof” Required

Yelp added a “Proof of Vaccine Required” to its site to help businesses communicate their COVID-19 policies on their websites.

As Restaurant Dive reports, restaurants add vaccination requirements for diners to eat inside, some have seen an uptick in one-star reviews from diners who are critical of the practice. Yelp, which said it has been increasingly monitoring pages for these types of reviews, has seen “review bombing” incidents increase since the pandemic. You can read more here.
